As a doula it is my privilege to witness the miracle of birth. My role as a birth doula is to support women and their families during pregnancy, birth, and the beginning stages of parenting. One of my main goals is to help create a safe and satisfying birth experience during labor and delivery.
I draw on my knowledge and experience as a doula and mother to provide informational and emotional support, as well as physical comfort. Many studies have shown that there are significant benefits to having a doula including a reduction in the number of cesareans, shorter births, and less use of Pitocin, analgesia, and forceps.
The time of pregnancy and birth is a transforming experience in a woman's life. I believe in the strength and confidence of a woman's body and its ability to birth.
